Soccer Management Company (SMC) is a leader in the youth sports event industry, operating more than 60 events across 22 states. In 2025, nearly 9,000 teams participated in our tournaments, with more than 10,000 teams projected for the 2026 season.

SMC partners with colleges and universities to provide students with valuable hands-on experience and real-world learning opportunities in sports management and event operations. As an industry leader in youth soccer tournaments, we offer a unique environment where interns and staff gain experience in every aspect of event execution.

Our core values are at the heart of everything we do. Team members enjoy the opportunity to work outdoors while gaining practical experience in event setup, activation, logistics, and tournament operations—all while helping create memorable experiences for thousands of athletes and families.

 

Learning Objectives  

 

MARKETING

Gain experience in social media marketing, as well as research to bring in new clubs and build new relationships. Learn professional email and platform skills using Canva, Robly, and Google extensions. 

COMMUNICATIONS

Build and maintain relationships with clubs, referees, trainers, and other staff to support smooth event planning and operations. 

LOGISTICS

Create field maps, verify registrations, plan for equipment and vendor needs, and assist in team placement needs. 

OPERATIONS

On-site experience in fast paced environments detailing in site management. Provide smooth events often coordinating up to 300+ teams in one weekend.
